Laboratory information management systems perform a vital role in capturing and safeguarding the provenance and profile of a batch of product. The value of this data is significantly enhanced if captured and controlled as part of the end-to-end trade lifecycle. Further data captured in the same flow can be applied and monitored across the entire value chain for transparency.
Record a variety of standard and user defined product characteristics. Standard elements include Moisture method, Bean count and cut, Colour, Smell, Shape, Roast, Staple, weight/ unit of Volume. Users can specify further requirements per their needs, which are integrated into the ongoing data capture process and trade lifecycle.
Depending on the commodity and in-process quality control actions, visual confirmations of defects per unit and size counts per unit will be captured. Physical profiling can also include colour and shape grading.
Chemical Lap results can also also be captured to record GMO/non-GMO, Toxins and Fungal against batch numbers and traced directly back to a specific origin.
Once all sample information has been captured, this is associated with a batch number and tagged using a QR code. This code can be published for general or private access to all traceability information.
